Fear Not | Part 2
The Mission of Fear
✔️ Anger
(Judges 6:13) "But sir," Gideon replied, "if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, 'Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?' But now the LORD has abandoned us and put us into the hand of Midian."
✔️ Insecurity
(Judges 6:14-15) The LORD turned to him and said, "Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Am I not sending you?" "But Lord," Gideon asked, "how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family."
✔️ Control
(Judges 6:16-18) The LORD answered, "I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites together." Gideon replied, "If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me. Please do not go away until I come back and bring my offering and set it before you." And the LORD said, "I will wait until you return."
The antidote to anxiety and fear is surrender rooted in trust.
What am I doing?
(Proverbs 29:18 MSG) “If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.”
2. What am I looking at?
(Luke 11:34 NIV) “Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness.”
3. What am I listening to?
(Romans 10:17 NLT) “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”
4. Who am I letting in?
(PROVERBS 12:25 AMP) “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good (encouraging) word makes it glad.”
